Mission Aim

To provide Burn survivors in the UK with ongoing support, resources and practical assistance.

How can we help?

By assisting in various ways including, but not restricted to:

• Physiotherapy, massage, rehabilitation gym/physio equipment, other essential equipment.
  
  

• Job retraining if necessary, providing specialist equipment such as specially adapted computers, etc.
  
  

• Work with existing Hospital Burns Support Groups for survivors and their families including counseling as well as assisting in the establishment of new Burns Support Networks/Groups.
  
  

• Helping patients afford special make up for facial and body scarring.
  
  

• Assistance with travel, accommodation for both Burns Survivors and Families if hospital is far from home. eg funds will be provided in the form of vouchers.
  
  

• Sponsorship for Children with accompanying Adults to attend Burns camps where they with meet other similar burn survivors and find support and comfort as well as share experiences with others who actually know what they have been through.
  
  

• Aid to Children’s Burns Camps.
  
  

• Helping Burns Units purchase vital equipment for the treatment of Burns survivors that the NHS is unable to provide, eg computerized beds - a necessity for those with burnt backs!- mobile bath/shower units, specialist surgical instruments etc.
  
  

• Medical research into new treatment strategies and therapies for Burns Patients.

All grants will be based on the agreement of the Trustees after due consideration of the applications received.
