The British Burn Association
Formed in 1968, the BBA is a National non-profit making organisation which enjoys charitable status.
Membership is not only available to physicians, surgeons, scientists, nurses, members of ancillary medical services and non-medical workers actively engaged in some aspect of the care of the burned patient, but also to persons interested in playing an active part in attempting to reduce the incidence and noxious effect of burning injury.
The Children's Fire & Burn Trust
The CFBT is committed to providing support for burn and scald injured children and their families.
In parallel, we run education and public awareness programmes designed to prevent these injuries.
We are the only UK charity working both nationally and internationally who are devoted solely to these areas.
Hot Water Burns Like Fire Campaign
The Hot Water Burns Like Fire campaign was launched on the 14th September by Wakefield MP Mary Creagh with the aim of persuading the Government to introduce legislation to restrict the outlet temperatures for baths to 48°C in England and Wales, regulations which already apply in Scotland.
Every year in the UK around 20 people die and 570 suffer serious scald injuries due to hot bath water, with the under fives and the elderly are most at risk.
Disfigurement can affect anyone, at any time or at any age. Changing Faces is a national charity based in the UK that supports and represents people who have disfigurements of the face or body from any cause.
The Burn Survivors Association is an independent association for burn survivors, their families and friends, which aims to form a community of burn survivors in the U.K, with links to other international burn survivor associations.
Their main aim is to improve the support and quality of rehabilitation services to all those who have suffered from burn injuries, by providing a national umbrella for the various burn survivor support groups in the United Kingdom.
