Royal Parks Half Marathon

2015 saw runners who between them raised a wonderful £10,000. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to each and every runner and their supporters for making this such a magnificent occasion. It was wonderful to see our Dan's Fund for Burns blue flags (courtesy of Skynasoars) flying all around the Parks - particularly Polly who possibly ran more miles than the runners to make sure someone was at every mile post!

Dan's Fund For Burns Christmas Charity Ball
Dan's Fund For Burns would like to thank all those who supported the Christmas Charity Ball at Charterhouse School on the 19th December. The event was a sell out and was really well supported by both our long term Sponsors and local new Sponsors.
Lucky with the mild weather, the hall was a magical setting for a fun and glamorous pre-Christmas party. The guests were greeted by the Mayor of Waverley and enjoyed a prosecco reception before sitting down to a delicious 3 course meal interspersed with fund-raising games.
A silent auction ran during the meal and a live auction kicked off after a speech by Polly. These were bid on by our most generous guests and with all profits going from the bar to the charity everyone worked hard to contribute in some way!
After the auction the fabulous Mirrorball Band kicked off their set and the frivolities started at the photo booth! For photos from the night please follow this link >>>
With all bills paid and all donations now collected in I am delighted to confirm we raised the amazing total of £33,010.80! We couldn't have done it without the help of our Sponsors, Prize Donators, Guests and Givers of gifts in kind. Thank you so much.
A special thanks also goes to the committee for all their hard work in the run up to the event, to The Mayor of Waverley Borough Council for choosing us as one of their two charities for his term in office and to our Title Sponsor Merronbrook Ltd, a Manufacturer of Quality Timber Frames, Roof Trusses and Floor Joists.

Practical Help For Burns Survivors

A major burn injury can be a lifetime sentence. Recovery often involves prolonged hospitalisation and surgery, immense pain and a lengthy rehabilitation process. However there is an urgent need for support for burn survivors beyond their dismissal from the intensive care and treatment provided in hospital.

Dan's Fund for Burns, a registered burns charity was established by Polly Miller after her husband Dan, best friend and seven other friends were killed in the 2002 Bali bombings. Polly was badly burnt herself and learnt first hand just how painful and devastating, both physically and emotionally, it is to be burnt. You can read Polly's story in the History section.

The main aim of Dan's Fund for Burns is identifying those most in need of help and providing it in a swift and practical way. Polly saw the great need for ongoing support for those affected by burn injuries and realised there are many victims receiving virtually no support from their family or the health service. For more information please go to the Aims & Mission section.

Dan's Fund for Burns is here to help you if you are Burn Survivor and we are always pleased to hear from people like you. Some of their stories and contributions can be found in the Survivors stories section.
